About me!

Hello everyone!

My name is Alexandra Hatzigeorgiou and I am sixteen years old. I currently live in Seattle, Washington, but I am originally from Athens, Greece. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at the early age of three, gaining immense knowledge about the diagnosis and the celiac lifestyle throughout the years. In my community, I am also part of the Celiac Youth Leadership Council; this is a program sponsored by the Seattle Children’s hospital. Its goal is to create a tight-knit community that gives voice to children with Celiac Disease. It creates a safe space where everyone shares their views, discusses their obstacles, and finds solutions to everyday challenges. Here, in this blog, I will be sharing my experiences, tips, tricks, and I will be answering your questions in hopes to relieve pressures, help families on a larger scale, create a virtual community, and help people understand that Celiac Disease does not have to define who you are.

Just remember: You are not alone. With the right support, guidance, and a positive mindset, any challenge can be overcome and everyone can have a “normal” life 🙂
